The Similan Islands
Known as of the world's top ten diving destinations, Similan National Marine Park consists of nine islands. Each is considered a jewel of the Andaman Sea whose underwater beauty is beyond imagination. Situated about 60 kilometres west of Khao Lak Bay in the Andaman Sea, Similan National Park is renowned for its beautiful scenery, both onshore and underwater. Abundant, unspoiled coral gardens are inhabited by colourful coral reefs, parrot fish, angel fish and butterfly fish-not to mention the elegant manta rays. Underwater visibility often extends as far as thirty metres on the sunny day. The island settings are pristine, with dazzling white sand beaches, dense vegetation, and huge smooth boulders.
